Boca Raton, Florida — Lynn University surpassed donation goals at the 26th anniversary of its Frank A. Robino, Jr. Golf Classic on April 23. The Fighting Knights' largest fundraiser of the year raised $102,760 for athletic scholarships.
"This event is imperative to our athletic programs' success, from recruiting top athletes to providing state-of-the-art facilities," said Lynn Director of Athletics Devin Crosby. "Our loyal supporters and donors not only strengthen our spirit, service and strength, but have supported our ability to expand."
Frank A. Robino Jr., trustee, generous benefactor and friend to the university, had a passion for providing scholarship assistance to student athletes. The university's annual golf tournament is hosted in his honor at one of South Florida's premier golf clubs, the Seagate Country Club in Delray Beach, and benefits student athletes by providing scholarship assistance to receive a college degree that otherwise might not be possible.
Team Sunbelt Rentals, won first place in the overall tournament, and Team Builders Plus including Blue & White Club Leadership Council President and Lynn alumna, Denise Santiago, won first place in the mixed competition. The event was made possible by donor contributions and title sponsor Gerrits Construction.
