Lynn Athletics Announces 2018 Fall Schedules

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's department of athletics announced upcoming schedules for the 2018 fall season concerning the five programs of volleyball, men's & women's soccer, and men's & women's cross country. With the addition of men's cross country to the list of fall sports, the 2018-19 academic year looks to be notable for the Fighting Knights.

Lynn's reigning NCAA Division II National Championship runner-up men's soccer program is starting the season strong at Bobby Campbell Stadium on Friday, Aug. 31, against Christian Brothers at 6 p.m. The men's soccer team is looking to replicate the successful season it had last year after a run to the National Championship match. The squad will be hosting seven home contests, including five in the Sunshine State Conference against Florida Southern, Embry-Riddle, Eckerd, Barry and Florida Tech.

Women's soccer is looking to improve on a 2017 campaign that produced the most wins in a season since 2011. The Blue and White open up on the road on Aug. 30 in Charlotte, N.C., against Queens University at 5 p.m. Women's soccer will be hosting nine home matches throughout the regular season with five in conference play against Rollins, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo, Tampa and Nova Southeastern.

Lynn's volleyball team kicks off its new season on the road at Embry-Riddle's tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the second year in a row, taking place on Aug. 24 and 25. They will continue early-season competition on the road at the Nova Southeastern Sharks Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., before heading into the SSC slate. Volleyball will host 10 matches throughout the season, all of them being in conference play.

Lynn's women's cross country team takes on a strong schedule of six meets, starting off with the season opener on Friday, Aug. 31, at the FAU Invite in Boca Raton at 6 p.m. Following the opening two meets in Florida, the cross country team then hits the road for competition in Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Lastly, the Lynn Fighting Knights have made a new addition to the athletics department with the men's cross country program starting in 2018. The program is the fifth addition to the Fighting Knights' list of fall sports, with Chris Wood taking on another head coaching position. The men's cross country team will kick off its first-ever season as Fighting Knights at the FAU Invite on Friday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. in Boca Raton, Fla.
