Alex Perez joined Lynn University as the Director of Athletics Marketing & Corporate Relations on November 28, 2011. He arrived following a seven-year stint as Marketing & Promotions Manager of the Orange Bowl Committee.
Perez is charged with continuing to build Lynn’s corporate relations with not only the Boca Raton area but surrounding communities. In addition, the Miami, Fla., native handles the marketing efforts for all 14 intercollegiate athletic programs, including game-day promotions.
During his time with the Orange Bowl Committee, Perez developed and implemented marketing and promotional activities to increase the overall brand and awareness of the Orange Bowl. He also oversaw the branding of the “Patch Patrol” brand ambassadors and the implementation of social media strategies via posts on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
A brief two-year period at the Max Borges Agency took Perez out athletics but not out of marketing. Serving as a marketing specialist, he created partnerships with radio, print and online media to promote Warner Bros. Publications’ line of DVDs and songbooks.
Perez began his career in athletics by serving as an account executive with the Miami Heat from 1999-2002. He later moved over to the Miami Arena as the Marketing & Events Coordinator where he managed all event operations for the Miami Manatees and developed marketing campaigns for the Miami Arena and Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority.
Born in Miami, Fla., Perez graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Administration. He is married to the former Ivonne Perez and the couple resides in Miami, Fla., with their son Jordan and French Bulldog named Babooshka.
