Roberto Baroniel joined Lynn University's athletic department in May of 2019 as the Coordinator of Athletic Operations. Baroniel’s role focuses on being the liaison to Adidas, handling the ordering of team apparel and equipment, serving as the game coordinator for various home events, and assisting in the coordination of signature athletic events.
Prior to Lynn University, Baroniel aided student-athletes with making the successful transition into and out of their collegiate careers. He most recently was an Academic Advising & Learning Specialist Intern at the University of Miami in 2018-19. Before Miami, Baroniel was a Graduate Assistant in Student-Athlete Development at the University of Missouri, where he earned a Masters Degree in Education, Counseling and Psychology.
A graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Baroniel served as National Chair for the NCAA Division II SAAC and played an integral role in enhancing the student-athlete experience for his peers across the country. In 2016, the committee played a key role successfully passing legislation which allowed student-athletes to cast a vote during the NCAA Convention. The committee also focused on enhancing the Division II Brand ‘Make it Yours’; increasing the access to post-season play and forging the idea of DII SAAC Super Regional Conferences.
During his collegiate tenure, Baroniel was a pitcher for the NSU baseball team. He finished his NSU career tied with Miles Mikolas for fifth all-time in games started (32) and third in innings pitched (203.1). Following his time with the Sharks, he went on to sign with the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League in 2015.
A native of Miami, Fla., Baroniel graduated high school from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and currently resides in Fort. Lauderdale, Fla. He more commonly goes by the nickname Bubba.
