Boca Raton, Fla. – The 2017 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region teams were announced on Thursday, and three members of Lynn University earned recognition: Tyler Curtis, Patrick Dorrian and Karl Ellison.
Curtis earned himself the spot as third baseman on the All-CCA Second Team. The senior ranks first in league on base percentage (.518) and second in batting average (.433), slugging percentage (.733), and total bases (137). The Newburgh, N.Y. native also ranks Top-10 in league runs (59), hits (41), walks (31), and home runs (13).
Ellison was able to snag the utility-non pitcher role on the All-CCA Second Team, splitting time at first base and catcher. The Naples, Fla. native was fifth on the team in batting average (.353) and in the Sunshine State Conference he finished fourth in slugging percentage (.689), third in runs batted in (53), second in doubles (22) and ninth in home runs (12).
Dorrian excelled in the six-hole all year, earning him a spot at shortstop on the All-CCA Second Team, and was an immediate impact hitter when he transferred in this season for Lynn. The Kingston, N.Y. native was sixth in the conference in runs scored (55), tied for fourth in hits (81) with teammate and SSC Player of the Year, Curtis, fifth in doubles (16) and second in at bats (218).
