Garbalosa Selected for ABCA Barnstormer Clinic

Greensboro, N.C. - Lynn University head baseball coach Rudy Garbalosa has been selected by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) to be a guest speaker/coach at the 2018 ABCA Barnstormers Regional Coaches Clinic in Orlando, Fla.

This is Garbalosa's first appearance at the Barnstormers Regional Coaches Clinic.  The Fighting Knights' skipper is one of nine coaches speaking at the clinic on Dec. 9, 2018, joining UCF head and assistant coaches Greg Lovelady and Ryan Klosterman and Saint Leo head coach Rick O'Dette, among others.

The ABCA is hosting 20 Barnstormers Clinics from the East Coast to the West Coast, visiting 16 states in 2018. The Barnstormers Clinics are presented by Blast Motion and will run September through December, leading up to the 2019 ABCA Convention in Dallas.

This year's nationwide schedule includes return trips to Nashville, San Diego and San Francisco and features several new sites in the Northeast, Southeast, Texas, Atlantic Coast and other areas. Multiple events in different parts of the country will also now take place on the same weekend.

Barnstormers Clinics are one-day events for baseball coaches that feature presentations from ABCA member coaches within that region. Presentations vary from video instruction to on-field demonstrations to live practice commentary, and focus on fundamentals, practical position-specific drills, coaching cues and practice organization tips.

Speakers at each event will cover a variety of topics, including hitting, pitching, arm care, catching, practice efficiency and planning, base running and defensive play. Blast Motion will also give a presentation during each event about hitting and the advantages of using motion detection and analytics to improve a hitter's performance.

The events are hosted by ABCA member coaches and are open to the public. They will typically run 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The registration fee is just $25 for current ABCA members or $40 for non-members. To register click here.
