MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –  Lynn University's baseball team suffered a 17-0 defeat in non-conference play at the hands of sixth-ranked (NAIA) Saint Thomas (FL) University on Tuesday evening.

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • STU pounded out 13 hits and 17 runs, eight in the first three innings, in what was a 'hodge-podge' lineup used by head coach Rudy Garbalosa for this mid-week affair.
  • Oscar Benitez Jr. managed the Blue and White's lone hit, a single to right field in the second inning. 
  • Anthony Franco, Anthony Masiello, Nicholas Schmidt and Zack Miednik each pitched scoreless innings in relief for Lynn.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Blue and White put in a total of 24 players in the game, nine pitchers and 15 position players.
  • Anthony Sanabria's nine-game on-base streak came to an end as did Shayne Fontana's nine-game hit streak.
