Men’s Basketball Loses to No. 9 Florida Southern

LAKELAND, Fla.- Lynn University's men's basketball team dropped it's third straight game at Florida Southern, 96-77, Saturday night. Kevin Ohen led the Knights with 20 points and six rebounds. LU slips to 2-7 in the Sunshine State Conference and 10-9 overall.

The Moccasins started the game on a 23-9 run, that Lynn was unable to recover from. Florida Southern took it's biggest first half lead with 1:51 to play after a layup by Dominic Lane layup to put the Mocs up by 26. LU headed into the locker room down 52-29 at halftime after Ohen hit a trey with two seconds on the clock.

LU shot 42.9 percent from the field in the first half, while shooting 27.3 percent from behind the arc. Florida Southern shot an impressive 55.9 percent from the field while connecting on eight-for-nine of their free throws.
Florida Southern continued it's momentum after the break with a 13-4 run leading to the biggest lead of the game, 65-33. The Blue and White managed to get within 18 after a layup by Jeremy Lampkin with 9:45 to play, to trail 72-54. The Knights closed out the game on an 11-4 run but trailed by 19 at the sound of the final buzzer.

Lynn improved it's shooting to 53.3 percent in the second half while connecting on 86.7 percent of their 15 shots from the charity line. Florida Southern shot 44.8 percent from the field in the second half while shooting 36.4 percent from behind the arc.

The Knights grabbed a total of 35 rebounds, 25 defensive, while FSC totaled 32. In the loss LU shot 48.3 percent from the field. Kaleb Clyburn added 16 points, four assists and Lampkin added 10 points for his fourth straight double-digit game.
