No. 20 Lynn Men’s Basketball Wins Big on the Road

Melbourne, Fla.- Lynn University's men's basketball team improved to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in Sunshine State Conference play with a 87-70 win on the road at Florida Tech. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Panthers. The Fighting Knights were led by Pavle Raickovic who had a career-high 22 points and six rebounds.

Lynn jumped off to an early 16-point lead holding the Panthers to three points through the opening six and a half minutes. Lynn led by as many as 18, 27-9, with 10:43 remaining in the half. FIT would go on a run to cut the deficit to four with 2:27 left to play. Lynn held on to lead 38-31 at the break with a last-second layup by Aaron Harrison.

The Fighting Knights shot 57.1 percent from the field in the opening half and held the Panthers to 32.3 percent and 18.2 percent from downtown. Harrison led the Blue & White with 12 points and Cory Thomas led all players with six rebounds. Lynn out-rebounded FIT 22-16 and forced nine turnovers.

FIT opened the second frame on a 9-0 run to take its first lead since the opening basket, 40-38. The two teams exchanged baskets before Lynn put together a 13-2 run to pull ahead, 59-51, with 12:10 to go. Lynn held a double-figure cushion through the remainder of the game, leading by as many as 20 points with five minutes to play. The Blue & White held on to win by 17 marking the first win for Lynn in the last nine meetings.

Pavle Raickovic exploded in the second half with 17 points to lead all scorers. Ben Berry added 12 points shooting four-of-six from three-point range and Kaleb Clyburn contributed seven points and four assists. Lynn shot 43.6 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from three-point range in the second half. Once again the Blue & White edged Florida Tech in rebounds, 21-19, and had six steals.

Lynn shot 49.3 percent from the floor in the win with Raickovic leading the way with 22 points shooting 7-for-11 from the field and connecting on eight-of-nine shots from the charity stripe. Aaron Harrison and Berry each contributed 18 points while Fred Landers had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. David Johnson had a team-high seven rebounds in the win.
