Men's Basketball Improves to 9-0 on the Road in 73-50 Win Over Nova Southeastern

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-Aaron Harrison had a season-high 27 points as Lynn University was dominant in a 73-50 win over Nova Southeastern on Wednesday night.  Lynn improves to 16-5 overall and 9-3 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Fighting Knights are a perfect 9-0 on th e road this season.

NSU scored first to lead 2-0 but a three-pointer by Harrison put the Fighting Knights ahead 3-2 and the Blue & White never trailed again in the half. Lynn jumped out to an early 11-4 lead in the opening minutes. The Fighting Knights had their largest lead of 12 points with 14:38 to go and held on to lead 31-22 at the break.

Harrison led all scorers with 14 points and Ben Berry had six points shooting two-for-two from behind the arc. Lynn shot 39.3 percent from the field and edged the Sharks 18-9 in rebounds. The Fighting Knights had eight steals in the opening stanza. Nova Southeastern was led by Harrison Goodrick who had nine points and a pair of rebounds.

Lynn opened the half on an 11-3 run to lead by 17, 42-25, with 15:29 to go. The Fighting Knights took their largest lead of the game with 4:18 to play on a jumper by David Johnson to lead 69-40. Despite late efforts by the Sharks, the Blue & White held on to a 73-50 lead.

Harrison had 13 points in the second half as the Fighting Knights shot 58.6 percent from the field. Lynn connected on 55.6 percent of its shots from three-point range. The Blue & White held a 24-10 advantage in rebounds while making six steals in the half.

Overall Lynn shot 49.1 percent from the field in the win. Harrison led all scorers with 27 points falling just a point shy of matching his career-high of 28 which was set at Nova Southeastern on February 11, 2014. NSU shot 39.1 percent from the field and had three players score in double figures.

Russell Wilson had a game-high six assists and Cory Thomas blocked three shots in Lynn's ninth SSC win of the season.  Additionally, Dante Scholl and Fred Landers had nine points each while Ben Berry and David Johnson both had eight points.
