Men’s Basketball Picked Fourth in SSC Preseason Poll

Melbourne, Fla. – Lynn University's men's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's coaches and released by the SSC office on Thursday.

The Fighting Knights received 74 total votes, including one first-place vote. Florida Southern tops the poll with 95 total votes and six first-place nods, followed by Barry (84) and Eckerd (78). Nova Southeastern (73) rounds out the top five in the rankings, including the final first-place vote.

Lynn posted a 14-13 record in 2017-18, including an 11-9 mark in conference play, and earned the sixth seed in the SSC Tournament. The squad returns four of its five starters from last year.

The ranking is the highest for the Fighting Knights since the 2015-16 poll where they were selected No. 2.

Lynn opens up the season at home on Friday, Nov. 9, against Clark Atlanta at 7:30 p.m.
