Men’s Golf in Contention at Guy Harvey

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – Lynn University's men's golf team is tied for second, and seven shots back of the lead, after 36-holes at the Guy Harvey Invitational.  Elliott Whitley is tied for fourth individually following a three-under par 141 on the Champions Course at PGA National.

The Fighting Knights began the day with a 291 team round and rallied to a one-under par 287 over the next 18-holes to finish in a three-way tie for second with Flagler and Barry at 578.   Saint Leo holds the overall lead with a 571 and host Nova Southeastern is tied with Indianapolis (579) in fifth.

Whitley came out ablaze as he shot two-under par in the morning and one-under par in the afternoon.  He is two-shots back of Joey Savoie from Saint Leo and Forrest Knight of North Alabama.

Fresh off his second career victory, Mateo Gomez posted a one-over par 145 to tie for 25th along with teammate Jose MirandaManuel Torres shot a 148 with Martin Cancino rounding out the starting five with a 152.

Lynn traveled two individual players with Andres Arango posting a 147 following rounds of 74-73 and Andres Tancred shooting a 154.
