Brous Tabbed USILA/BSN Sports National Offensive Player of the Week

Perry, N.Y. – Lynn University freshman Dryden Brous continues to rake in recognition for his spectacular performance over the weekend for the Fighting Knights' lacrosse squad as the faceoff specialist garnered National Offensive Player of the Week accolades from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Wednesday.

This marks the second National Player of the Week award for the Lynn lacrosse program in its four-year history with sophomore Cody Bartusiak earning defensive honors last season following a single-game school record six caused turnovers in last year's season finale.

Brous had his best game to date for the Blue and White as the freshman shouldered every faceoff in the Fighting Knights' 13-8 victory over Saint Leo this past weekend. Brous lined up for all 24 faceoffs in the game, controlling a career-high 19 for a 79.2 winning percentage. He also finished with a career-high-tying nine ground ball pickups and tallied his third assist in the past two games with a helper on Lynn's first goal of the day.

Brous' 19 faceoff wins is two shy of the single-game school record. The Lions marched out four different players throughout the game to line up across from Brous with their starter finishing 2-of-6 on the day.

Earlier in the week, Brous picked up his third overall and second consecutive Sunshine State Conference Specialist of the Week nod.

For the season, Brous holds an impressive 67.4 winning percentage at the X, ranking second in the SSC. He has the best percentage in the league out of players with at least 40 attempts on the year.

Robert Beshlian out of Pace University was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week by USILA/BSN Sports. He made 31 saves and allowed just 11 goals for a save percentage of .738 and a 5.61 goals-against average in wins over Adelphi and Saint Rose.
