Perry, N.Y. – The 2019 Lynn University men's lacrosse season kicked off yesterday afternoon with one of the biggest, if not the biggest, victories in program history. As a result, the Fighting Knights caught the attention of the nation, breaking into the USILA/Warrior and New Balance Coaches Poll at No. 18, as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Monday.
Yesterday, the Blue and White blew out No. 7 NYIT, 19-5, marking the first time in program history that Lynn defeated a team nationally ranked No. 7 or higher.
This is the second release of the USILA poll during the 2019 regular season. The Fighting Knights were receiving votes in both the preseason and week 1 polls.
The Sunshine State Conference is also represented by Tampa (No. 12) and Saint Leo (No. 14). Florida Tech, Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Southern are all receiving votes.
Additionally, the Fighting Knights made a huge jump in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Division II Men's Top 20 rankings. Lynn enters the top-10 at No. 9, after being No. 18 last week and No. 19 in the preseason release. Those rankings can be found HERE.

The Fighting Knights will head out west for a two-game stint in Utah, first taking on Colorado Mesa at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
