Inclement Weather Postpones Men’s Soccer Home Opener

BOCA RATON, Fla.- It was a picture perfect night at Bobby Campbell Stadium with Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie in attendance as the honorary captain of the men's soccer team for tonight's home opener against Florida Memorial.

With 20 minutes until kickoff lighting strikes were detected in the area postponing the start of the game. After an hour and a half delay, the game was officially called and may be rescheduled for a later date.

However, Mayor Haynie, Director of Athletics Devin Crosby and several male student-athletes were able to capture a photo with the 2014-15 Sunshine State Conference Mayor's Cup in a shortened pre-game ceremony.

Men's soccer returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 5, when the Blue & White hosts Colorado Christian and 7 pm. Fans can follow the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com. Don't forget to 'Like' us on Facebook and follow @Lynn_Knights on Twitter and Instagram.
