Top-Ranked Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Cougars on Opening Night

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University's top-ranked men's soccer team shut out Colorado Christian (0-1), 10-0, on opening night at Bobby Campbell Stadium. The Fighting Knights were led offensively by Chris Hellmann who scored four goals while adding a pair of assists for 10 points. Dominik Friedl added a hat trick of his own with three goals while Lukas Zlatarits and Bernd Eilers each had a goal.

A 45 minute lightning delay in the 23rd minute didn't dwindle the Fighting Knights hopes as Hellmann tallied his second goal of the game just 17 seconds into resuming play.

Jonny DeMoya earned his first career win in goal for the Fighting Knights making two saves while Brandon Eide took the loss allowing 10 goals against and stopping two shots.

Lynn outshot CCU 22-4 and edged the Cougars 8-1 in corner kicks.
