Men’s Soccer Has the Right Prescription for Win Over Eckerd

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Two goals within the first 10 minutes of play set the pace for Lynn University's offensive outburst as the men's soccer team knocked off Eckerd College 5-1 in the Sunshine State Conference Championship quarterfinals.  The Fighting Knights move on to a rematch against Saint Leo in the SSC Semifinals.

  • For the second time this season, Lynn scored within the first two minutes of the match as Luca Puster netted his fourth goal of the year with a header off an assist by Bruno Militz 1:27 into play.
  • Tomer Bitton tallied the second goal in the 10th minute to put Lynn ahead 2-0.
  • Chris Hellmann capped off the first half scoring with a one-v-one goal against Alex Gott in the 28th minute.
  • Eckerd made it a game with a free kick goal in the 70th minute from Richard Ainscough.
  • Hellmann found the back of the net by beating Gott for the second time on a flip shot.
  • Dominik Friedl ended the scoring for the night when he dribbled through the three defenders for his fifth goal of the season.


  • Lynn held Eckerd to only one shot in the first half and outshot the Tritons 18-5 overall.
  • Although credited with only two saves, Jonny DeMoya turned away both attempts on diving plays.


  • Hellmann logged his fifth consecutive game with a goal, his third multi-goal game of the season and has now tallied at least one point in six consecutive matches and 13 of 14 matches this year.
  • Bruno Militz recorded his first career multi-assist game and is tied with Victor Moriera for second on the squad in assists with five.
