Second-Ranked Men’s Soccer Plays to Draw with PBA

West Palm Beach, Fla. - Lynn University's grueling men's soccer schedule continued as the Fighting Knights played to a scoreless double-overtime draw with Palm Beach Atlantic in each squad's Sunshine State Conference opener.  This is Lynn's sixth match in 14 days.

  • Palm Beach Atlantic held the advantage in the opening 45 minutes, attempting seven shots to Lynn's three but the Blue & White created some solid opportunities with four corner kicks.
  • The Fighting Knights' offense picked up speed in the second half with six shots overall, including two on frame which Elliot Barker needed to stop on diving plays.
  • Dominik Budic had an opportunity to end the match in the 90th minute but Lynn's Alexander Roth made a tremendous save to send the match into overtime.
  • Lynn earned two corners in the first four minutes of extra time with Dominic Docherty getting a head on the second kick only to have it sail wide.
  • Tensions spilled over into the second overtime period, with three yellow cards issued in the final 10 minutes of action.
  • Docherty had an attempt in the waning moments but Barker turned the attempt away.


  • Palm Beach Atlantic outshot Lynn 14-11 but each team posted four shots on frame.  
  • The Fighting Knights also held a 9-7 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Roth stopped three shots to earn his third shutout of the year.


  • Lynn has never lost to Palm Beach Atlantic in 20 meetings all-time.
  • This is the second consecutive year the Lynn/Palm Beach Atlantic match has ended in a draw.  Last year the game ended 2-2 at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
