  • Men’s Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team
    July 17, 2015
    Lynn University’s men’s tennis team has been named as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team following the 2014-15 season. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that maintains a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.0 scale. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
  • Junior Daniel Riggs Named ITA-All America for Singles

    Daniel Riggs posted a 16-5 record at the top of the Lynn University men’s tennis singles lineup this season en route to earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America honors in singles as announced Friday morning. Riggs becomes the 69th All-America selection in program history and 55th since Lynn joined the NCAA.

  • Men’s Tennis Season comes to an End in NCAA South Region #2 Semifinals

    Lynn University’s sixth-ranked men’s tennis team battled back from a 2-1 doubles deficit in the NCAA South Region #2 Semifinals against Sunshine State Conference foe Rollins on Saturday afternoon. The Blue & White took a 4-3 lead in singles play but the Tars emerged victorious 5-4 ending the Blue & White’s season. Lynn posted a 16-5 overall record this year and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 13th-straight season.
  • Perez Named Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year; Five Players Named Men’s Tennis All-SSC

    Lynn University men’s tennis head coach Michael Perez was named the 2015 Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year as announced by the conference office on Friday afternoon. Daniel Riggs and Fernando Rivas both were selected to the All-SSC First Team for singles while Pavel Mojha earned second team singles accolades. Two of Lynn’s doubles teams earned All-SSC Second Team honors marking the second consecutive season Lynn has had two pairs named All-Sunshine State Conference.

    The ninth-ranked men’s tennis team at Lynn University has clinched its 13th-straight NCAA Tournament berth earning the No. 3 seed in the South Regional #2 tournament which is set to take place May 2-4 in Pensacola.

The Fighting Knights fall to 16-4 overall and will turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament as the Blue & White will make its 13th-straight tournament appearance.

    Lynn University’s ninth-ranked men’s tennis team defeated Florida Southern in the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament on Thursday night. The Fighting Knights swept doubles play to pull ahead 3-0 en route to a 5-0 victory. The Blue & White are set to face #2 seed Saint Leo at 5 pm on Friday, April 24.

    Lynn University’s men’s tennis team fell to third-ranked Barry, 6-3, at the Perper Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights (14-3) suffer their third loss of the season and move to 4-2 in league play while Barry stays unbeaten at 17-0 and 6-0 in the Sunshine State Conference. Danny Riggs earned a pair of wins in the loss as he defeated fourth-ranked Fabian Groetsch in a three-set battle at the top singles spot.

The second-ranked NAIA Eagles fall to 8-3 overall and suffer their third loss of a Division II school this season. Lynn improves to 10-2 overall and 11-4 all-time against ERAU.

    Lynn University’s ninth-ranked men’s tennis program defeated Northwood (Mich.) 8-1 at the Perper Tennis Complex on Tuesday handing the Timberwolves their first loss of the season. The Fighting Knights improve to 9-2 overall while NU is now 6-1.

    Lynn University’s men’s tennis team fell 5-2 to defending national champion Georgia Gwinnett at the Perper Tennis Complex on Tuesday. The top-ranked NAIA opponent took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and clinched the victory after winning at the No. 2, 3, and 5 singles spots. Lynn moves to 8-2 overall while the Grizzlies improve to 6-1.

The ninth-ranked Blue & White improves to 8-1 overall and is on a five-match win streak heading into next Tuesday’s match against Georgia Gwinnett.
