Men’s Tennis Holds at No. 3 in the Nation

Tempe, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and Oracle unveiled the latest Division II National Rankings on Wednesday, debuting computerized rankings for the first time ever in Division II. Lynn University's men's tennis team maintained its post at No. 3.

The computerized rankings publish the Top 50 men's and women's teams. ITA member coaches have access to the unpublished rankings (teams outside the Top 50). Prior to the shift to computerized rankings, a national rankings panel voted on the Top 25 teams.

Lynn, who started off the year ranked No. 6 before moving up to No. 3 with the last release, holds its spot at No. 3 this week with a 10-3 record on the year. Barry and Lander are the only teams ranked above the Fighting Knights.

National singles and doubles rankings were also updated for men and women.

Jean-Baptiste Mateo appears in the singles national rankings for the first time this year, making a big entrance at No. 8 in the country. Tristan Houle (No. 57), Kay Bartmann (No. 59) and Florian Clemares (No. 71) are also ranked for the Fighting Knights.

In doubles, Clemares and Jose Porfirio Ordonez are slotted at No. 16 while Clemares and Mateo are ranked No. 49 as a pair.

National rankings will be released every Wednesday for the remainder of the 2018 season.
