Men’s Tennis Draws NCAA Round of 16 Opponent

Indianapolis – The men's tennis NCAA Division II National Championship bracket has been set, with Lynn University's fifth-ranked Fighting Knights matched up against 13th-ranked Azusa Pacific University in the Round of 16. Lynn heads to Surprise, Ariz. on Monday, with the tournament set to commence on Wednesday, May 9.

Different from years past, the NCAA seeded four teams when setting the 16-team National Championship draw. Barry claims the No. 1 seed, followed by Columbus State, Lander and Azusa Pacific.

The Blue and White (17-6) upset Saint Leo on Tuesday to win the South Region II bracket, clinching the program's eighth appearance at the NCAA National Championship and first since 2012.

Azusa Pacific (26-2) advances through to the Sweet 16 coming out of the West Region with a 5-1 victory over UC San Diego. The Cougars are making their second straight appearance at the national tournament and third in the last four seasons.

Lynn and Azusa Pacific will be meeting on the courts for the first time ever in men's tennis.

The teams meet at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz., on Wednesday, May 9 at 3 p.m. ET with the winner advancing on the play the victor between Queens (N.Y.) and Drury in the quarterfinals.
