No. 3 Men’s Tennis Picks up Sunday Triumph

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's third-ranked men's tennis team was right back in action on Sunday morning, posting a 6-1 nonconference victory over Webber International.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Lynn took two of the three doubles matches and was leading in the final bout, grabbing the lone doubles point.
  • Patrick Bessinger and Lucca Baptista logged a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles with Jose Porfirio Ordonez and Ryan Neale tallying a 6-2 victory at No. 3.
  • The Fighting Knights secured five of the six singles matches to close out the day.
  • Kay Bartmann (No. 1), Baptista (2), Florian Clemares (3), Robin Calais (4) and Bessinger (6) all recorded straight-set singles victories.
  • The Warriors grabbed their lone point at the No. 5 flight, winning 6-1, 2-6, 13-11.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Porfirio was pulled from the singles lineup.
  • Bessinger picked up his first victory in the Blue and White.
  • Neale was victorious in his collegiate debut.
  • Renato van Veggel made his first appearance of the season.
