  • Softball Season Comes to an End on Senior Day

    Lynn University’s softball season came to an end on Saturday with a pair of losses to Tampa (28-11, 16-8) in conference play. UT took game one 4-1 from the Fighting Knights and completed the Sunshine State Conference series sweep with a 6-1 victory in the final game. Lynn finishes the regular season 20-25 overall and 10-14 in the league, its best SSC record since 2004.

    Lynn University’s softball team dropped below .500 for the first time since conference play began after losing a pair of Sunshine State Conference games to visiting Saint Leo on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights fall to 20-22 and 10-11 in the league while SLU improves to 36-12 and 11-9 in the SSC.
  • Softball Falls 2-0 to Saint Leo in Series Opener

    Lynn University’s softball team fell to Saint Leo in the first game of the three-game Sunshine State Conference series, 2-0, on Friday afternoon. The Fighting Knights fall to 20-20 overall and 10-9 in SSC action while SLU is now 34-12 and 10-9 in league play. Francais Olexa was credited with the loss throwing a complete game allowing seven hits and two runs, both unearned.
  • Softball Drops Final Game of SSC Series to Barry

    Lynn University’s softball team lost the final game of the Sunshine State Conference series against 21st-ranked Barry on Sunday afternoon, 12-10. The Fighting Knights lose the series 2-1 and move to 20-19 overall and 10-8 in the SSC. Sara Vazquez went 4-for-5 at the plate while Kaci Vassallo had a pair of hits with five runs batted in.
  • Go Ahead Now: Vassallo Hits Two-Run Bomb to Split Softball DH with Barry

    Lynn University’s softball team split its double header against rival-Barry on Saturday afternoon at the Lynn Softball Field. Barry took game one, 5-3, but a two-run home run by senior Kaci Vassallo in game two lifted Lynn to a 5-4 victory in game two. Lynn improves to 20-18 overall and earns its 10th SSC win of the season marking its first double-digit season in the wins column since 2004.
  • Softball Drops Final Away Doubleheader of the Season

    Lynn University’s softball team dropped a pair of regional games to Palm Beach Atlantic (26-19) in regional action on Tuesday night. PBA took game one, and then blanked Lynn 8-0 in five innings in game two. The Fighting Knights move to 19-17 overall and will return home for the remainder of the season beginning Saturday, April 11, against Barry.

    Lynn University’s softball team beat Nova Southeastern on Thursday night in the first game of the three-game Sunshine State Conference series, 6-1. Missy Montgomery earned the win in the circle for the Fighting Knights while sophomore Sara Vazquez drove in three runs on a bases clearing triple in the top of the fourth inning. Jasmine Campos hit her first inside-the-park home run of her career in the victory en route to the SSC win for the Blue & White as Lynn improves to 18-14 overall and 8-5 in league play.

    Lynn Univeristy’s softball team improved to 15-14 and 5-5 in the Sunshine State Conference on Friday night when the Fighting Knights defeated Eckerd, 7-4, in the SSC series opener. Manya Lopez went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in four runs for the Blue & White while Missy Montgomery collected her eighth win of the season in the circle for Lynn.
  • Olexa Hits Walk-off Single In Softball’s Doubleheader with Florida Tech; Fighting Knights Fall in Second Game

    Lynn University’s softball team moved to 14-14 overall and 4-5 in Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday afternoon after splitting its twin bill with Florida Tech (25-10, 5-4). A rough start for Missy Montgomery in the first game saw the Fighting Knights trailing 5-0 but Lynn rallied in the later innings to win in walk-off fashion, 6-5. Florida Tech’s ace left little room for the Blue & White to capitalize on in the rubber match of the series, handing Lynn a 2-0 loss.
  • Softball Drops SSC Series Opener to Florida Tech

    In Lynn University’s first home Sunshine State Conference game of the 2015 season, the Fighting Knights (13-13) fell to Florida Tech (24-9), 2-0, on Friday afternoon. The Blue and White was held to just three hits while Missy Montgomery threw seven innings striking out three but was hit with her fourth loss of the season.

  • Softball Splits with Florida Southern but Takes SSC Series 2-1

    The Lynn University softball team improved to 13-12 overall after splitting Saturday’s Sunshine State Conference doubleheader with Florida Southern. A three-run homerun by Leanne Wright in game one forced extra innings, in which the Blue & White went on to twin 6-5. FSC avoided the sweep with a pair of late runs in the second game to earn its first SSC win of the season 7-6. Lynn moves to 3-3 in SSC action while the Mocs are now 13-17 overall and 1-8 in league play. Wright went 4-for-9 at the plate with eight RBI in the two game stretch and Olexa earned both a win and a loss in the circle.

    Lynn University’s softball team improved to 12-11 overall and 2-2 in Sunshine State Conference play with a 4-2 win over Florida Southern on Friday night to open the SSC series. Cherise McEnery went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs batted in and her team-leading sixth homerun of the season. Missy Montgomery earned the win in the circle for the Fighting Knights going the distance for a complete game allowing two runs on eight hits.

    Although the Lynn University softball team took the first game of the Sunshine State Conference series against 16th-ranked Rollins Friday night to beat Rollins for the first time since 2008, the Tars came back in full force on Saturday afternoon to win both games of the double header to take the series 2-1. Rollins scored three late runs in game one to win 4-1 before shutting out the Blue & White 2-0 in game two. Lynn falls to 10-10 overall and 1-2 in SSC play while the nationally-ranked Tars improve to 17-1 and 5-1 in league action.

Jasmine Campos went 3-for-3 at the plate while Missy Montgomery pitched a complete game allowing two runs on eight hits to improve to 6-2 on the season.

    Lynn University’s softball team was down to its final strike in the first game of a pair of games at the National Training Center on Wednesday afternoon when the Fighting Knights rallied to score two runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Post, 7-5. Lynn then dropped a non-region game to Findlay, 10-0, in five innings. Christina Carvatta and Sara Vazquez both went 4-for-8 at the plate for the Fighting Knights while four other members of the Blue & White squad had a multi-hit day.

    Leanne Wright went six-for-seven in Lynn University’s double header against Embry-Riddle on Tuesday. The Fighting Knights dropped the first game 9-1 in six innings before falling 4-3 in the second game. Lynn falls to 8-7 overall and returns to the diamond on Wednesday for a pair of games against Post and Findlay at the National Training Center.
