    Softball Drops 12-Inning Duel Before Splitting Doubleheader with Tampa Lynn University’s softball team opened the doubleheader on Saturday with a 12-inning marathon against the University of Tampa with the Spartans coming from behind and clinching the weekend series in a 2-1 thriller. The Fighting Knights bounced back valiantly in the nightcap however, leading wire-to-wire in a 5-1 victory to close out the Sunshine State Conference series.

    Softball Handed Setback in Battle for Conference Lead In the series opener on Friday between the top two teams in the Sunshine State Conference, the visiting Tampa Spartans plated three runs in the top of third inning before holding off the Lynn University softball team for a 3-1 victory. Elizabeth Diaz pinch hit in the fourth and knocked in the Fighting Knights’ lone run.

    Lynn Dominates SSC Player of the Week Awards Lynn University athletics had an incredible showing out of the league office on Monday afternoon, securing eight Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week accolades. Marquan Botley and Vieux Kande swept the men’s basketball awards, Donovan Armas brought home baseball’s Pitcher of the Week honor while softball’s Karolina Flores was named the Player of the Week. Dryden Brous and Shaun McDonald secured two of the three men’s lacrosse awards with Stefanie Stemmer and Jean-Baptiste Mateo clinching a Fighting Knights’ sweep in the tennis category.

    Softball Sweeps Double-Header, Clinches Series Over Bucs BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University softball team opened Sunshine State Conference Play with two straight victories in the double-header against their bitter-rival, Barry Bucs, 4-3 in extra innings, and an 8-2 onslaught in game two. Karolina Flores was clutch in both games, hitting a homerun and the walk-off single in the first game, in addition to the perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate in the second contest.

    Seven Softball Players Named 2015-16 Easton/NFCA Division II All-America Scholar-Athletes Seven members from last season’s Lynn University softball program were recently named Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II All-America Scholar-Athletes. This award is given out yearly to softball student-athletes who earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher during that specific academic year.
