Saint Leo, Fla – Lynn University's softball team fell on the wrong side of a pitcher's duel in the Sunshine State Conference series opener on Friday night. The 20th-ranked Lions pitched a perfect game and scored two runs in the sixth, to secure the 2-0 victory.

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • Francais Olexa (6-6) pitched a complete game for the Blue and White in the circle striking out seven and allowed two runs on nine hits.
  • Olexa kept the lions scoreless through her first five innings of work before giving up five straight singles in the sixth.
  • Six out of the nine lions in the starting lineup recorded a base-hit.
  • Allison Mitts (8-4) struck out eight Fighting Knights and allowed no hits and no walks.

  • Olexa's streak of consecutive games reaching base ends 11 games.
  • This is the fourth time this season the Fighting Knights have been shutout.
  • Seven strikeouts are the most by the Lynn pitching staff this season since Olexa struck out eight against Pittsburg State.
