Winter Park, Fla. - Lynn University's softball team took an early lead over Rollins, one of the top teams in the Sunshine State Conference, but the Tars proved too much in a 6-1 loss on Friday evening. Kayla Sheffield drove in the lone run for the Fighting Knights.

STATS OF THE GAME:
Lynn took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first off a Sheffield single but Rollins responded with three runs in the home half before tacking on runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings.
Sheffield went 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI.
Shayle Arenson was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Shannon Johnson collected the Blue and White's final hit.
Allyson Jameston (5-15) earned the nod in the circle. Two errors led to four unearned runs as she surrendered six runs, two earned, on nine hits with a pair of K's and walks.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
Sheffield's triple is the first of her career.
Sheffield's RBI gives her 17 on the season, tied for second on the team with Elizabeth Diaz and one behind Arenson.
Jameston tosses her 13th complete game of the year, tying for the team-lead with Sheffield.
