MIAMI SHORES, Fla.-Lynn University's women's basketball team fell 71-59 to Barry University in Wednesday evening's Sunshine State Conference match-up. Sharneka McCatty and Zachara Bailey led the Fighting Knights with 15 points apiece while freshman Nina Guillaume notched 10 points. Lynn moves to 9-7 overall and 2-4 in SSC play.
The Fighting Knights put pressure on the Bucs in the opening period, forcing eight turnovers. McCatty led all scorers with nine points while Bailey notched seven points for the Blue and White. Lynn headed to the locker room only trailing by four points looking to make a second half comeback.
After the break, the Bucs went on an early seven-point run leaving Lynn to play catch up. The Blue & White was within reach when Guillaume dribbled down the left side putting in a lay up to even the score 48-all with 9:36 remaining. The Bucs played to Lynnís weakness, capitalizing on shots from the perimeter to claim the win.
