Women's Basketball Falls Victim to #4 Sharks

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.- Lynn University's women's basketball team lost No. 4 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday night, 94-55. The Fighting Knights were led by Nina Guillaume and Tiffani Kerrison who each had 13 points. Lynn falls to11-10 overall and 4-7 in Sunshine State Conference play.

NSU took a quick 5-0 lead in the game but Lynn was able to stay within reach until the Sharks extended their lead to 16 with 37 seconds left in the first half. The Blue & White scored 18 points off the bench, 10 of which game from Kerrison. Nova Southeastern shot an impressive 51.7 percent from the field and slightly out-rebounded the Knights, 19-17. 

Trailing, 44-28, at the beginning of the second half Lynn had some ground to make up against the nationally ranked Sharks. Nova Southeastern kept up the momentum in the second half though, shooting 59.3 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from three-point range. The Fighting Knights shot 35.3 percent and pulled down 11 boards while Shattoria Baker scored 7 points in the second frame. 

The Sharks had five players score in double digits and were led by Danielle Robinson who had a game-high 19 points. Guillaume was just one rebound shy of a double-double in the loss.
