    Lynn University women’s basketball head coach Julia Huddleston announced the addition of Maddie Herr, a redshirt senior, for the 2015-16 season. Herr joins the Fighting Knights after playing at USC-Upstate, and is the third signee under the newly appointed Huddleston.

    Lynn University women’s basketball head coach Julia Huddleston has announced the addition of Brekia Henderson, a transfer from Hillsborough Community College, for the 2015-16 year. Henderson is the second commit in as many weeks as Huddleston has been hot on the recruiting trail since taking over the program last month.

    Newly appointed Lynn University head women’s basketball coach Julia Huddleston has been quite busy in her first few weeks on the job. On Wednesday morning she proudly announced the signing of Mahogany Hall, a 5-foot-8 guard, as her first commit for the 2015-16 season. Hall, a recent graduate of Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Ga., will join five returners from last year’s squad.

    Lynn University senior Tylar Tracy matched a career-high 21 points in her last game as a Fighting Knight on Saturday. The Blue & White fell to Florida Tech (20-6, 10-6) in the final game of the 2014-15 season, 78-74. Lynn finishes the season 7-18 overall and 1-15 in Sunshine State Conference play.

    Lynn University’s women’s basketball team lost on the road to Sunshine State Conference rival Barry, 81-58, on Wednesday night. The Fighting Knights fall to 7-17 overall and 1-14 in SSC play. Charla Nelson-James had a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds falling one board shy of a double-double. With the loss, Lynn and Barry split the regular season series as Barry improves to 13-14 overall and 5-10 in the SSC.

The Fighting Knights had three players score in double figures and were led by Zachara Bailey who had her second-straight game as the Blue & White’s leading scorer with 14 points.

Lynn falls to 7-12 overall and 1-9 in Sunshine State Conference play and will hit the road to St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday for a league game against Eckerd.

    Lynn University’s women’s basketball team was unable to hold off a second-half surge by the No. 8 Rollins Tars on Saturday afternoon in the Warden Arena. The Fighting Knights led by ten at halftime but RC shot 65.5 percent in the second half to come back for a 80-72 win. Lynn falls to 7-11 overall and 1-8 in Sunshine State Conference action. Sharneka McCatty had a team high 19 points and nine rebounds with a pair of assists and a steal.

    Melbourne, Fla.- Lynn University’s women’s basketball team fell to Florida Tech (16-2, 6-2) 67-49, on the road on Wednesday night. The Fighting Knights fall to 7-10 overall and 1-7 after the first half of Sunshine State Conference play. Sharneka McCatty had a team-high 13 points while Charla Nelson-James recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Lynn falls to 7-9 overall and 1-6 in conference action as the Mocs improve to 9-7 overall and 3-4 in the SSC.

Barry falls to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in the SSC. McCatty had a team-high 13 points in the victory marking it the fourth-straight game she has scored in double figures.

Charla Nelson-James had a career night with a season-best 22 points while shattering her previous career-best of rebounds per game with 23. Her previous best was set on January 21, 2012, against Florida Southern when she logged 17.

Destiny Brown had a team-high and career-high 16 points for the Blue & White. Lynn’s next contest will be on the road against Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, January 14.

    Lynn University’s women’s basketball team trailed by 18 points in the second half but rallied back against the 11th-ranked Sharks of Nova Southeastern University (10-2, 2-1 SSC) in Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday night. A late 9-0 run sparked the Fighting Knights comeback in the second half but NSU held on to win 78-74 handing Lynn its third SSC loss, all to nationally ranked teams. The Fighting Knights (5-6, 0-3) will host Eckerd on Saturday in conference play.

The Fighting Knights (5-4) fell to Rollins in the SSC opener at home on December 4, 69-52.

The Fighting Knights were led by Sharneka McCatty who had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds. Charla Nelson-James recorded her second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 12 boards, all in the second half while Shay Harris had a season best 15 points and five assists. Lynn improves to 5-4 overall and while PBA falls to 5-9 overall.

Charla Nelson-James recorded her first double-double of the season in the win with 12 points and 13 rebounds while matching her career record for blocks with six.

Sharneka McCatty had a season-high 21 points to lead all scorers. Lynn will face Benedict (5-1) tomorrow at 2 pm in the final game of the Blue & White’s tournament.

Lynn will face Benedict and Johnson C. Smith at 2:00 pm each day. Sunshine State Conference competitor Saint Leo will also be in attendance playing both Benedict and Johnson C. Smith at noon.

    Lynn University’s women’s basketball team was handed its first loss of the season, 67-48, by NCAA Division I opponent Bethune-Cookman (1-5) on Saturday afternoon on the road. Sharneka McCatty had a game-high 10 points and eight rebounds and Charla Nelson-James chipped in with nine points and four rebounds. Lynn heads home 3-1 on the season and will play its first home game of the season when they Blue & White takes on Rollins in the Sunshine State Conference season opener on Thursday, December 4.

This marks the third straight year the Blue & White have started off with a 3-0 record and the fourth win over the Cowgirls in program history.
