  • Lynn University challenges six NCAA Division I schools to showdown

    Lynn University Athletic Director Devin Crosby has invited six NCAA Division I schools to take on the Division II Fighting Knights during the 2017–18 season. Dubbed the South Florida Showdown, the nine-game series will be hosted by Lynn beginning in August.

    Lynn University received a record number of donations and pledges at the 25th anniversary of its Robino Golf Tournament on April 24. The Fighting Knights’ largest fundraiser of the year raised $101,895 for athletic scholarships.

    ynn University’s athletics department handed out 38 awards to student-athletes and inducted four new Hall of Fame members at the annual Student-Athlete Recognition Awards show on Tuesday night, held at the Wold Performing Arts Center on campus.

    Melbourne, Fla. – Lynn University women’s basketball team would not be where it is this season without newcomer Paola Vazquez Concepcion. The Sunshine State Conference office released its 2016-17 ALL-SSC Women’s Basketball selections, recognizing the junior guard, honoring her as 2016-17 SSC Honorable Mention player, as well as a spot on the 2016-17 All-Newcomer Team.
  • Women’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short in SSC Tournament

    St. Petersburg, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team was assigned the No. 8 seed, and traveled to St. Petersburg to take on No. 1 seed Eckerd College on Wednesday night in the opening round of the 2017 Sunshine State Conference tournament. The Fighting Knights scored 29 points in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough, as the Tritons advance to the next round by a score of 70-66.
  • Tampa Three’s Down Women’s Basketball in Regular-Season Finale

    A 6-of-6 performance from long range in the second quarter created separation before halftime for the home Tampa Spartans on Saturday as the Lynn University’s women’s basketball team fell in the last game of the regular season, 63-41. Freshman Janay Williams came off the bench to lead the Blue and White with a near double-double.
  • Sharks Take Bite Out of Women’s Basketball on Senior Night

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball trailed 11-0 in the first 6:34, and never took a lead as the Nova Southeastern Sharks escaped the De Hoernle Center with a win on the home squad’s Senior Day Wednesday night. The four seniors that were honored, Brekia Henderson, Shaunt’e Tucker, Nina Guillaume and Marta Oledzka all contributed, scoring 36 of the Fighting Knights’s 58 points. Guillaume enjoyed a special moment, coming in with just seconds remaining and hitting a three from the corner to close out her career at home in the Blue and White.
  • Women’s Basketball Stifled by Mocs on the Road

    Lakeland, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team went on the road and went step-for-step with the Florida Southern Mocs, but fell 60-51 on Saturday night. Janay Williams led the way with 16 points in just 16 minutes of game time on the hardwood.

    The Lynn University women’s basketball team was unable to build upon a three-point advantage after halftime as Rollins took the first lead of the game at the 4:18 mark of the third quarter and didn’t look back as they took a 61-50 victory on Saturday afternoon to sweep the season series. For the fifth game in a row, Paola Vazquez led the Fighting Knights in scoring with 18.
  • Women’s Basketball Edged Late at Saint Leo

    A 10-2 run down the final stretch of the fourth quarter from Saint Leo on Wednesday night created a late double-digit deficit for the Lynn University women’s basketball team. Paola Vazquez Concepcion did her best to keep her squad in the game, tallying 14 of her team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter, but the Lions came out with the 66-61 Sunshine State Conference victory.

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team took a business-like approach in defeating Barry University on Wednesday night, 54-51, to even the season series against the Sunshine State Conference foe. The Fighting Knights utilized a 18-0 run over a span of 7:41 minutes between quarter one and two and never looked back. The Bucs were able to cut the deficit to three, but a last second shot had no chance and Paola Vazquez Concepcion secured the game-winning rebound as the clock read all zeroes.
  • Women’s Basketball Flies Past Eagles to Even Season Series

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team came into the de Hoernle Sports and Cultural Center on Saturday afternoon looking to avenge a one-point loss earlier this season against Embry-Riddle, and the Fighting Knights did this with relative ease, downing the Eagles at home, 64-47. The Blue and White took the 33-32 lead with 9:12 in the third quarter, the defense stepped up and never looked back, closing out the win and ending their previous four-game losing streak.

    Lynn University's women’s basketball team was unable to keep up with Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday night in a 64-49 Sunshine State Conference setback. Paola Vazquez Concepcion filled the stat sheet with 20 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and a steal but it was not enough to secure the season sweep over the Sailfish.

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team did what most could not this season, and that was limit the offensive opportunities for the Eckerd Tritons, holding them to 65 points. This is the third-lowest scoring output for the visiting squad so far this season. The Eckerd defense however was too much for the Fighting Knight offense, limiting the Blue and White offense and defeating the home team 65-40 on Saturday afternoon.

    Winter Park, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team continued their road struggles on Wednesday night, as the Rollins Tars used a 32-point third quarter to send the Fighting Knights home with a loss in enemy territory. It was another day at the office for junior transfer Paola Vazquez Concepcion, who scored 20 points for the fifth time in the Blue and White.

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team faced the top defense in the Sunshine State Conference coming in on Saturday afternoon, and the Tampa Spartans limited what the Fighting Knights could do on the offensive end, downing the home team, 74-56. Paola Vazquez kept the Blue and White in the game with 13 first quarter points, but Tampa made adjustments and limited her to just four points the rest of the way.
  • Women’s Basketball Utilizes Balanced Scoring Effort, Two Career-Highs to Down Lions in Friendly Territory

    BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s basketball team used four double-digit scorers, and two double-double performances to keep the Saint Leo Lions at bay on Wednesday night, defending home court and never trailed in a game that ended with a final score of 81-72. The Lions got as close as three points with seven minutes left to play in the game, but Paola Vazquez Concepcion hit a deep three that seemed to be a final dagger in the enemy’s effort. Vazquez Concepcion and Freshman Janay Williams both recorded career-highs in rebounds in the home victory.

    Daytona Beach, Fla. – After trailing the majority of the game, the Lynn University women’s basketball team missed a game-winning opportunity in the final two seconds, and were edged by the Embry-Riddle Eagles 64-63 Saturday night. Three Fighting Knights scored in double-digits, led by a season-high 18 points from senior transfer Marta Oledzka.
  • Women’s Basketball Unable to Catch Florida Southern

    After trailing for nearly the entire night, the Lynn University women’s basketball team pulled within one point with 18 seconds to play on Wednesday night but was unable to catch Florida Southern College. The Fighting Knights featured five players scoring in double figures but the Mocs secured the Sunshine State Conference matchup, 73-68.
