Schults Sisters Lead Successful Women’s Soccer Campaign

Saint Leo, Fla. - Lynn University's women's soccer team knocked off Saint Leo 2-1 in a key south region match-up. The Schults sisters provided the offensive fireworks with Kirstie scoring her team-leading seventh goal of the season and Summer dishing out her first two career assists. With the victory Lynn improves to 4-7-2 overall and Saint Leo falls to 2-11-2

The opening 10 minutes saw offensive sparks from both teams in what could have been a high-scoring affair.  Saint Leo started it off with a goal in the second minute of play after LU failed to clear a corner kick.  Kirstie Schults would later tie the match in the 10th minute off a pass from her sister Summer. The rest of the half was even with the Fighting Knights holding an 8-7 advantage in total shots while both teams had three shots on goal.

Lynn alike they were going to score early in the second half when Tatiana Penagos beat her defender for a one-one with the keeper in the 47th minute but the shot attempt was saved by Abbey Evans.  But in the 56th minute, Penagos would prevail, grabbing a pass from Summer Schults and chipping a shot over Evans head for the game-winning score.
