Women’s Soccer Drops Regional Game to West Florida on the Road

Columbus, Ga.- Lynn University's women's soccer team (0-2) fell to West Florida (2-0), 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at the CSU Collegiate Invitational at the Walden Soccer Complex on the campus of Columbus State University. Kelly Field scored the lone goal for the Blue & White in the loss while Cailtin Shaver made two saves and allowed three goals in a full 90 minutes in goal for the Fighting Knights.

A pair of goals by the Argonauts had UWF leading at halftime, 2-0. Daryl Bell scored her second goal of the game in the 70th minute for a 3-0 lead. Eighteen seconds later Field put one past the Argos' keeper on a failed clearance for her first career goal.

The Fighting Knights outshot UWF 15-13 and the Argos held a slight 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Ana Chumik earned the win in goal for West Florida while Shaver was credited with her first loss of the season.

Lynn falls to 0-2 overall and will return home to host Keiser University in the first women's soccer game of the season at Bobby Campbell Stadium on Thursday, September 10, at 7 pm.
