Cole Notches First Goal of Career; Women’s Soccer Falls Short in Near Comeback

West Palm Beach, Fla. - Donish Cole found the net for the first time in her Lynn career the night before her birthday but Lynn University's women's soccer team's comeback bid fell short in a 3-2 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday Night.  Caroline Duerr scored her second goal of the season in the Fighting Knights dropping to 0-4-1 overall.

Palm Beach Atlantic (3-2-0) started its scoring when Kasey Wyer converted on a chance created by a lead pass from Monica Rojas at the 8:35 mark.

The Blue & White would come up with a response when Donish Cole found the net at 22:08. Just nine minutes later Caroline Duerr chipped the ball over the keeper with defenders all around to notch her second goal of the season.

Six minutes later the Sailfish tied up the game off a long shot from the edge of box by Wyer for her fourth goal of the year.

The second half the game became physical with Lynn committing eight fouls and PBA going in the books six times. Unfortunately for the Blue & White, the team played the final 25 minutes down a player following a red card.

A few minutes later the Sailfish capitalized a man-up when Jamie Montgomery scoring her fourth goal of the season off a long shot that was tipped by goalkeeper Caitlin Shaver.

The Blue & White play again on Saturday, September 19, when they go on the road to face Saint Leo. Fans can watch the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com and receive in-game updates by following @Lynn_Knights on Twitter and Instagram.
