Women’s Soccer Season Comes to an End

Winter Park, Fla. – The 2015 Lynn University women's soccer season came to an end on Wednesday night following a 1-0 loss at Rollins College.  Alexa Downie turned away nine shots in defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Rollins' Paxton Sickler scored the only goal of the match in the 50th minute with a lob shot.
  • Jamie Perriello had an opportunity to tie the game in the 87th minute off a header from Summer Schults' corner kick but saw Tars' keeper Mary Spring make a diving save.

STAT OF THE GAME:

  • Rollins outshot Lynn 22-15 and held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
  • Lynn posted 10 saves in the match.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • This is the eighth game of the season for the Fighting Knights decided by one goal or less.  The team has gone 1-5-2 in those matches.
  • Donish Cole ended the season with 15 points, the most since 2012.
