Swimming Kicks-Off NCAA DII National Championship Competition

Greensboro, N.C. - Lynn University's swimming program competed in its sixth consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship since its inception in 2012-13.  Catalina Berraud-Galea participated in the 1000 freestyle and Sarah Hughes in the 200 individual medley. 

Named the Division II Elite 90 Award winner the previous night, Berraud-Galea finished 29th overall in the 1000 free with a time of 10:21.70.  Her time is the 11th fastest in her career.  She still has two remaining events, the 1650 and 500 free, of which she has earned All-America recognition for both. 

Hughes took 38th place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.92, the fifth fastest time in her career.  She will compete in the 400 IM as well as the 100 & 200 breaststroke.  She received an All-American nod in the 400 IM in 2017.
