Women’s Swimming Finishes Strong in Opening Meet

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Ewa Osiniak continued the great start to her college career. The freshman led the way for Lynn women's swimming on Day 2 of the 2019 Shark Invite when she won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53:07. As a team the Fighting Knights placed fourth with 470 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The day started with the 1000 freestyle, which saw Susan Faremouth placed fifth with a time of 10:57.19
  • Beck was third in the 100 breaststroke at 1:06.53
    • Grace Foltz finished at 1:14.25.
    • Suggs posted a 1:16.42.
    • Duong swam 1:23.55.
  • Another top-three finish was turned in by Smylek in the 100 backstroke with her 58.00, which was good for second place.
    • Currao swam 1:02.87.
    • Anita Field posted a 1:04.79
    • St. Juste finished at 1:06.64.
    • Right behind was Hawkins at 1:06.96.
    • Sydney Keefe swam a 1:08.78.
    • Sikes was right behind at 1:09.20.
  • Lynn posted a pair of top-five finishes in the 400 IM, Khacha in fourth at 4:37.76. and Beck at 4:40.22

  • Monges finished third in the 100 butterfly at 58.09.
    • Smylek swam 59.95.
    • Nicholas finished with a 1:00.11.
    • Faremouth swam a 1:02.39.
    • Currao posted a 1:02.97.

- In the 400 freestyle relay Monges, Nichols, Currao and Osiniak posted a 3:40.11.
