Women’s Tennis Dukes It Out with Duquesne

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's fifth-ranked women's tennis team put forth an impressive 8-1 victory over NCAA Division I Duquesne 8-1 on Wednesday night.  Valentine Confalonieri and Rosalie Willig each mowed over their opponents in helping the Fighting Knights improve to 9-1 overall.

Tag-teammates Confalonieri and Willig put Lynn ahead 1-0 with an 8-2 victory at the no. 1 doubles position, setting up a clean sweep for the Fighting Knights.  Carolina Cuevas and Martina Gledacheva knocked out AllyMiller/Maddy Adams 8-4 and Kim Prezszlowski and Grace Mpassy outlasted Chandler Consonery/Megan Wasson 8-6.

Willig was the first to claim victory in singles, distancing herself from Spencer Caravaggio 6-2, 6-0 before Confalonieri secured the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 over Kylie Isaacs at the top spot.  The Dukes went down at the third, fifth and sixth positions to Gledacheva, Alina Jane and Mpassy but took the No.4 singles spot.
