No. 5 Women’s Tennis Sweeps Lewis

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University's fifth-ranked women's improved to 10-1 overall with a 9-0 victory over Lewis on Thursday at the Perper Tennis Complex. Rosalie Willig played at the No. 1 singles spot for the first time this season earning a win against Nora Mindiyarova, 6-2, 6-0, and partnered with Caroline Cuevas at the No. 1 doubles spot for an 8-1 defeat of Mindiyarova and Ana Banic.

Lynn swept doubles with the duo of Kim Przeszlowski and Grace Mpassy defeating Megan Nguyen and Jill Wetmore, 8-2. Aline Jane and Martina Gledacheva teamed up for an 8-0 shutout of Jamie Drez and Kayla Annerino as the No. 3 pair.

Willig's win at No. singles made it a 4-0 match for the Fighting Knights and Gledacheva's 6-4, 6-1, victory over Nguyen sealed the Blue & White's win. Minutes later Jane captured success over Banic in straight sets of 6-4 scores. Cuevas was dominant at the No. 4 spot win a 6-0, 6-4 win over Wetmore while Mpassy and Przeszlowski both won their matches in consecutive 6-0 sets at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.

Lynn earned its 10th win of the season while Lewis falls to 2-4 overall. The Fighting Knights return to action on Tuesday, March 10, when the Blue & White hosts Georgia Gwinnett.
