BOCA RATON, Fla.- It has been a two-year hiatus for the Lynn University women's tennis team at the NCAA Division II National Championships but the Fighting Knights will return this season following a 5-4 win over No. 4 West Florida (25-4) in the South Region #1 Final on Monday afternoon. Mpassy's 6-1, 6-1, win at No. 6 singles over Sarai Flores evened the match at 2-2. A loss by Cuevas to Kat Dikosavljevic 6-1, 6-4 at the number three spot once again gave West Florida a one-point advantage in the match. No. 8 Faure took down No. 2 Confalonieri in consecutive 6-2 sets to put the Argos within one point of clinching victory. Jane defeated Bubelova 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4 singles for Lynn to trail 4-3 overall.

After both No. 28 Willig and Gledacheva lost their first sets, they each battled back winning set two. Willig went on to defeat No. 19 Kochanova 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 tying the match 4-4. Gledacheva dropped her first set to Amaral 4-6 but after trailing 3-0 in the second set she went on to win six consecutive games for a 6-3 win in set two. A penalty for Amaral gave Gledacheva a 1-0 lead at the beginning of the deciding set in which she went on to win 6-3 clinching the victory for Lynn.

This marks the 17th time in 19 years that Lynn has advanced to the NCAA National Championships and first time in three seasons.
