Winter Park, Fla. – Lynn University's women's tennis team capped off a phenomenal weekend on Sunday at the Rollins C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational, winning all four of the singles flights.
Along with the two doubles titles won on Saturday, the Fighting Knights captured all six of the possible championships this weekend.
In the top singles bracket, doubles teammates Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig lined up on opposing sides of the net this time. Bogolii took the championship with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph.
Martina Gledacheva absolutely dominated the 'B' bracket this weekend en route to her second consecutive title at the annual tournament. The sophomore defeated Saint Leo's Coralie Pesenti 6-0, 6-0 in the championship match and didn't lose a single game throughout the event.
Lynn's Alina Jane and Carolina Cuevas squared off in the 'C' final with the upperclassmen claiming the upper hand. Jane downed her fellow Fighting Knight 6-2, 6-4 to win the title for the second year in a row.
Tania Alaby was the final winner in the Blue & White, defeating Hayley Macpherson (Rollins) 6-0, 6-2 in the championship match.
Up next for Lynn, Willig and Bogolii will compete at the 2015 USTA/ITA National Small College Championships at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C, on Oct. 15-18.
