Women’s Tennis Duo Through to Semifinals

Sumter, S.C. Lynn University's Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig were victorious in their first round doubles match on Thursday at the opening day of the 2015 USTA/ITA National Small College Championships, hosted at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

The Blue & White pair qualified for the Division II National Small College Championships following their title win at the South Regional Championships at the end of September.

Willig and Bogolii were awarded the second seed in the eight-team championship draw. The Fighting Knights closed out Lena Dimmer and Kiefer Shaw of California University (Pa.) in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.

Up next in Friday's semifinal matchup, the Lynn squad will face off against St. Mary's Kaylin Kruseman and Jamie Lee Denton at 1 p.m. The St. Mary's pair won their opening round match 6-2, 6-3 over Augustana's Jessa Richards and Kornelia Staniszewska.
