Women’s Tennis Wins 10th Straight at FIT

Melbourne, Fla. – Still bothered by nagging injuries, Lynn University's women's tennis team was able to pull out a 6-3 Sunshine State Conference victory on the road at Florida Tech on Saturday, marking the 10th consecutive win for the top-ranked Fighting Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Blue and White took the top two doubles flights but a retirement at No. 3 prevented the Lynn sweep.
  • Klaudia Boczova and Eliska Petrackova teamed up for a strong 8-0 win at the top spot with Eleonora Liga and Anastacia Parkin winning at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.
  • The Fighting Knights took four of the six singles matches in straight sets, with FIT picking up a win via retirement at No. 2 singles and a 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 6.
  • Boczova continues to roll opponents at the top spot, winning 6-1, 6-1.
  • Federica Mordegan (6-2, 7-5), Liga (6-0, 6-3) and Petrackova (6-2, 6-1) all won in straight sets at the three, four and five positions, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Lynn has rattled off 10 straight victories after losing to Division I Stetson on Feb. 3.
  • Florida Tech's 12 wins this season still rank second in the SSC, behind only Barry and one ahead of Lynn.
  • Lynn handed FIT its first loss since Feb. 20. The Panthers came into today on a 10-match winning streak.
