Boczova Tabbed ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year

Tempe, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2017-18 Division II regional award winners this week, with Lynn University's Klaudia Boczova being named the women's tennis South Region Senior Player of the Year.

Boczova becomes the third player in program history to win the award and first in 13 years, joining Masha Bayser (2005) and Maria Alves (2002).

The graduate-student transfer has been racking up awards all season, being named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year to go along with All-SSC First Team accolades in singles and doubles.

Boczova wrapped up the 2018 campaign with an undefeated 24-0 singles record, all at the No. 1 position, and did not lose a set the entire season while going 22-3 at No. 1 doubles.

She was named the SSC Player of the Week five times, marking just the third-ever Fighting Knight to win an SSC weekly award five times in an academic year.

Seven other awards were given for the South Region with Mississippi College's David Boteler winning Coach of the Year, Saint Leo's Marta Vicens Miquel winning Rookie of the Year, Nova Southeastern's Ana Navas claiming Player to Watch and Saint Leo's Andrada Gordan winning Most Improved Senior to highlight a few.

National award winners will be honored on Tuesday, May 8, at the 2018 Division II NCAA Tennis Championships in Surprise, Ariz.
