Women’s Tennis Tabbed No. 5 in Preseason National Rankings

Tempe, Ariz. – The first Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings of the 2019 season were released this week with Lynn University's women's tennis team being selected as the No. 5 team in the country.

The Fighting Knights are coming off a 20-5 campaign a year ago, marking the 23rd 20+ win season in program history and the fifth straight. The squad finished as runners-up at the Sunshine State Conference Tournament as well as at the NCAA South Region II Championship.

Barry, the defending SSC and national champions, claims the No. 1 spot in the rankings, followed by West Florida, Columbus State and Hawaii Pacific ahead of Lynn. The SSC is also represented by No. 7 Saint Leo, No. 8 Nova Southeastern, No. 17 Florida Southern and No. 20 Rollins.

The preseason individual national rankings for singles and doubles were released on Nov. 21, but the Fighting Knights did not have any representation.

Lynn opens up the season at home vs. St. Thomas on Friday, Feb. 1.
