No. 5 Women’s Tennis Soars over Seahawks in Home Opener

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The fifth-ranked Lynn University women's tennis team downed the second-ranked Seahawks of Keiser University in a nonconference affair on Thursday, securing a 6-1 victory.

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • In the top doubles slot, Leolia Jeanjean and Natalia Siedliska were dominant to open the match, winning 6-2. 
  • Eliska Petrackova and Federica Mordegan followed their teammates with an identical 6-2 winning result at No. 2, putting an end to the doubles matches and securing Lynn the doubles point.  
  • That foursome won each of their individual singles contests, capped by Petrackova's dramatic 6-2, 4-6, 12-10 win at No. 4 singles. 
  • Eleonora Liga rounded out the Lynn effort with a 6-0, 6-1 dispatching of her opponent at No. 5 singles.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Keiser is ranked No. 2 in the current NAIA Women's Tennis National Rankings. 
  • Jeanjean, Siedliska, Mordegan and Liga all posted singles victories over nationally-ranked Seahawks.
