Jeanjean Nabs Third Straight SSC Player of the Week Award

Melbourne, Fla. – For the third consecutive week and the fourth time this season, Leolia Jeanjean of the Lynn University women's tennis team was tabbed the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Out of the 10 announcements so far this spring, the Fighting Knights have garnered the women's tennis weekly award five times, with Jeanjean securing four.

Jeanjean remains undefeated on the season as she led the Blue and White to victory in a battle of top-five squads. The No. 1 Fighting Knights went on the road and swept No. 5 Nova Southeastern, 7-0.

Jeanjean and doubles partner Ulyana Grib started off the match with a 6-2 triumph at No. 1 doubles. In singles play, 25th-ranked Jeanjean upset another highly-ranked opponent, downing No. 8 Natalie Espinal in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

On Friday, Lynn had its match with 22nd-ranked West Florida halted and canceled due to rain, but not before Jeanjean and Grib could pick up a 6-3 win at the top doubles flight. Her singles match was not completed.

Jeanjean is 15-0 on the year in singles and 18-0 in doubles play.
