Women’s Tennis Tabbed No. 3 Seed at 2019 NCAA National Championships

Indianapolis – The women's tennis NCAA Division II National Championship bracket has been set, with Lynn University's top-ranked Fighting Knights selected as the No. 3 seed. Lynn heads to Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. on Monday, with tennis action set to commence on Wednesday, May 22.

Last year, the NCAA seeded the top-four teams at the National Championships for the first time with the remaining 12 schools scattered throughout. This year, all 16 teams received a seed.

The Blue and White (24-0) defeated Nova Southeastern on Tuesday to win the South Region II bracket, clinching the team's 20th appearance at the NCAA National Championships in the past 23 years.

As the No. 3 seed, Lynn will face No. 14 seed Grand Valley State in the Round of 16. The opening round match will take place at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. GVSU (23-4) advances to the NCAA National Championships for the first time since 2011 after winning the NCAA Midwest Region II bracket.

Lynn has only played Grand Valley St. one other time in the program's history, earning a 9-0 victory during the 2016 regular season.
