Yoder Named CoSIDA Academic All-District for Women's Cross Country/Track

Greenwood, Ind. - Lynn University cross country and track runner Chase Yoder has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 5 team, selected by CoSIDA, as announced on Tuesday.  Yoder becomes the second cross country/track student-athlete in program history to receive this honor recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom and is now eligible for Academic All-America accolades.

Yoder has a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in biology and is one of eight 4.0 GPAs on the first team.  The sophomore out of Naples, Fla., ran her fastest 5k time of the cross country season at the Royal Challenge when she crossed the finish line in 20:37. In track, Yoder logged the fastest 800m time on the teamat 2:20.32 and was third in the 400m (1:01.58) and 200m (28.87).

This is the second academic honor for the cross country/track program this year having earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-America team accolades in February.  Yoder also joins Thalie Carmigniani (2017) as the only runners to achieve Academic All-District recognition.
