Lexington, Ky. - Lynn University's junior libero Lacy Redwine was named First Team All-South Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Tuesday. Redwine was also recently named Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference as she helped lead the Fighting Knights to their third-straight NCAA South Region Tournament appearance.
In just her first season as the full-time libero, Redwine averaged 4.76 digs per set while holding LU's opponents to a meager .173 attack percentage. She became just the fourth Knight in program history to amass 1,000 career digs earlier this season and notched eight matches with at least 20 digs, including a career-high 32 against Michigan Tech.
Redwine is third Lynn player in as many seasons to be named AVCA First Team All-South Region. She is now eligible for All-America status.
The Knights went 20-12, their third consecutive 20-win season, in 2009 and return all 12 letterwinners for the 2010 campaign.
