Volleyball Hosts Barry, Travels To NSU on Halloween

BOCA RATON – After an impressive three-set victory over Florida Southern, the Lynn University volleyball team will look to keep that momentum going as the Fighting Knights host Barry on Wednesday, October 27.  Four days later, LU (16-7, 7-3 SSC) will travel to Fort Lauderdale to take on Nova Southeastern on Halloween.

The Fighting Knights looked very impressive against the Moccasins over the weekend with Mallory Deneen leading the way going error-free in a 13 kill, .500 hitting.  Haley Pratt and Sophie Gagnon combined for seven total blocks with 11 kills and zero errors in 27 swings.

Lacy Redwine keeps inching closer to the LU record for career digs with 1,774 in her four-year career with the Blue & White.  Redwine is just 34 away from tying Chrstie Schade's mark of 1,808 digs.

Lynn will look to split the season series with Barry (13-3, 8-2 SSC) for the fifth-straight year as the Bucs took the first meeting this season, 3-0, on September 21.  Barry has won four straight following a loss to Tampa on October 8.  Julia Teixeira leads the Sunshine State Conference in both kills and points to lead the offense.  The Bucs have dominated the all-time series with the Fighting Knights, 23-4, with all four Lynn victories coming under fifth-year head coach Lynze Roos.

In a televised matchup on BECON-TV, the Fighting Knights will look to sweep the Sharks and even the all-time against NSU (5-13, 2-8 SSC) at 15 wins apiece on October 31.  Paola Ruiz leads the team with 2.82 kills per set while Kathleen Yong averages over five digs per frame.  Nova Southeastern has lost six consecutive matches but could snap that as they face Florida Tech on October 29.
